Using PeopleSoft - Adding a class with a lab or activity section
Many
of our lecture or seminar classes have a lab (also called a "related
component," "activity," and "co-requisite")
attached to them. These labs may look like separate classes
in the schedule, but you cannot take one without the other. Adding
one of these combinations is different than adding a regular class
but it's easy once you learn the steps listed below. Do you know how to tell if your class has a lab by looking at the schedule of classes? (a) The lecture will have a check mark next to the five-digit class number, (b) The lab that follows it will be 0 units. |
Here's
what to do after you log in and arrive at the "Add Classes" screen
(see Fig. 1) below: Enter the five-digit class number for the LECTURE
ONLY under "Class Nbr." DO NOT PUT THE LAB CLASS NUMBER
UNDERNEATH IT. |
|
Click
on the hourglass icon next to the class number and it will take you
to the "Class Enrollment Options" page. |
|
If
you know the five-digit class number for the lab, type it into the
box next to "Related
Component 1." If you don't know the number,
click on the hourglass icon next to the box and you will see the number.
Click on it and you will be returned to the previous page. Click "OK" (lower
left-hand corner). You will end up back on the page where you inserted
the first class number. |
|
You
will see your class number and the Subject/Catalog number and Section
number for the class. Click "Submit" (lower
right |
|
You
will then see another page, on which you will see the information
for your class. Look under the heading "Add Status." It should
say "Success." Click "View My Schedule" to confirm
that your class has been added. After you have added all of your classes, click the "Submit" button. |
